They took palm branches and went out to meet him and cried out: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

Today we are going to Jerusalem to meet the Lord.

Today Jesus triumphantly enters the city, the crowd greeting him with branches and flowers and cheering his entrance.  But Christ knows that he would soon be condemned, suffer torture and be hung on the cross to die.

Today many that professed to love him would also betray him.

The Church knows we need to live these events again because we can easily forget or betray our own baptismal calling and choose sin and death over God.  Lent and passion week is our annual reminder that our relationship with God brings us through suffering, sin, and death and into rebirth, joy, and life with God.

At La Salette the Beautiful Lady also reframes the Gospel message to return from sin to God, from death to life.  Mary reminds Maximin, the younger seer, about a past event and he replies “Oh, yes, now I remember! Until now I didn't”.  She reminds us to remember.  To remember to live closely with Christ this week and be ready for His holy resurrection.
